AIMSR Bathinda was established in 2006 by the Adesh Group. It was initially affiliated with BFUHS Faridkot (2006–2011 MBBS batches) and is now affiliated with Adesh University, Bathinda, from the 2012 MBBS batch onwards. It is recognized by NMC, MoHFW, and listed in the FAIMER World Directory of Medical Schools.

AIMSR offers 150 MBBS seats annually and 58 MD/MS PG seats across 20 clinical and non-clinical specialties. MBBS admissions are via BFUHS Punjab counselling; PG admissions via BFUHS (50% state quota) and MCC (50% AIQ).

The total MBBS course tuition fee at AIMSR is approximately ₹68–72 lakhs for the 4.5-year program, excluding hostel, mess, and other charges. Annual component is approximately ₹15–16 lakhs. NRI Quota total course fee is approximately USD 1,10,000–1,20,000. Fees are subject to revision by the State Level Fee Determination Committee, Punjab.

AIMSR's teaching hospital — Adesh Multi-Specialty Tertiary Care Hospital — has 1,190 beds with 700+ inpatient beds and sees approximately 1,400 outpatients daily. It provides advanced tertiary services including NICU, PICU, OICU, Paediatric Nephrology with Dialysis, Arthroscopy, and GI Endoscopy.
