AIMSR Chittoor is established by Apollo Hospitals Educational & Research Foundation (AHERF), a not-for-profit society registered in Hyderabad since 1992, recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by DSIR, DST, Government of India.

AIMSR Chittoor was established in September 2015 at the Apollo Knowledge & Health City, Murukambattu, on the Chittoor-Tirupati Road.

AIMSR Chittoor offers 150 MBBS seats annually, as approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), with annual renewal permissions granted up to AY 2024-25.

The Chittoor Government District Hospital was taken over by AIMSR in September 2015 under a 33-year MoU with the AP State Government. It has 410 teaching beds and covers 21 medical and surgical specialties, with modern ICU, Casualty, 6 Operation Theatres, and labs of international standard.
