ACMS admission is primarily for wards of eligible Indian Army personnel across 8 priority categories: (1) Children of serving Army personnel with 10+ years continuous service; (2) Children of ex-Army on pension; (3) Children of war widows/martyred Army personnel; (4) Children of medically boarded-out (service attributable); (5) Children of medically boarded-out (non-attributable); (6) Children of ex-Army discharged after 10+ years; (7) Children of APS/Army Medical/Dental Corps officers; (8) Children of MNS members with 10+ years service. Additionally, approximately 17ā20 seats are reserved for Delhi SC/ST candidates (10+2 from Delhi-recognised school). All candidates must qualify NEET UG and be a minimum age of 17 years on or before 31 December of the admission year.
ACMS Delhi cutoff varies annually. Typical NEET rank range for Army Priority General category: 20,000ā30,000 (closing rank). For higher priority categories (Priority 1ā3: war widows, martyred personnel), closing ranks may be higher (i.e. more lenient ā lower NEET marks required). For Delhi SC category, the 2022 Home State closing rank was 30,654ā1,10,155. For EWS (2025 expected): 10,000ā30,000 rank (requiring ~600ā650+ NEET marks). Students are advised to score a minimum of 430ā450 NEET marks even for Army category seats. ACMS is considerably more competitive than most state government medical colleges due to Delhi's premium location and the military hospital teaching environment.
The primary teaching hospital is Base Hospital Delhi Cantt ā one of the most advanced defence medical facilities in India. With the second busiest OPD in Delhi (after Safdarjung Hospital), it provides unparalleled clinical exposure. The hospital is staffed by elite Army Medical Corps officers and military specialists with both clinical and administrative excellence. MBBS students undergo clinical postings here from Phase III, experiencing a unique combination of high patient load, military discipline, and precision-driven clinical practice. Treatment at Base Hospital is restricted to Army personnel/families, ensuring students encounter a concentrated, well-managed patient population. This combination of military discipline, high case load, and specialist Army doctors creates a distinctive and exceptional clinical training environment.
