The official name is Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College (ABVGMC), Vidisha. It is named after former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee and was established in 2018.

ABVGMC Vidisha has 180 MBBS seats annually (expanded from 150 in 2018 to 180 in 2019). 15% (27 seats) are via MCC AIQ and 85% (153 seats) via DME MP state quota.
