BMC Sagar was established in 2007 as the sixth government medical college of Madhya Pradesh. It admitted its first MBBS batch in 2009. It is affiliated with MPMSU, Jabalpur, and recognized by the NMC.

BMC Sagar has 125 MBBS seats annually. 15% are filled via MCC All India Quota and 85% via DME MP state quota counselling. Being a government college, there is no management or NRI quota.

The first year MBBS fee at BMC Sagar is INR 1,19,000; subsequent years (2nd–5th) are INR 1,04,000 each — total approximately INR 5,14,000 for the 5-year MBBS program. This makes it one of the most affordable government medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Hostel and mess are additional.

BMC Sagar offers 35 MD/MS PG seats across 17 specialties in 11 disciplines including Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT, and Ophthalmology. PG fees are approximately INR 3.18 lakh total.
