Government Medical College, Ratlam was established in 2018 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. It is named Dr. Laxmi Narayan Pandey Government Medical College, Ratlam, in honour of the late Dr. Laxmi Narayan Pandey. It is affiliated with MPMSU Jabalpur and recognised by NMC.

GMC Ratlam offers 180 MBBS seats per year — the highest intake among the new batch of MP government medical colleges. Of these, 27 are under AIQ (via MCC) and 153 under MP State Quota (via DME MP).
