The ESIC Insured Person (IP) Quota is a unique reservation system ensuring children of ESI-registered workers get preferential access to ESIC Medical College MBBS seats at heavily subsidised fees. Eligibility: The candidate must be a 'Ward of an Insured Person (IP)' as defined under Section 2(11)(iii) of the ESI Act, 1948. The Insured Person must be registered with ESIC with a valid IP number. Required document: 'Ward of IP Certificate' issued by the ESIC Regional Director/Competent Authority. The critical date for determining IP eligibility is the last date of NEET UG application submission for that year. Candidates must attach Annexure 3A or 3B (as applicable) with their application.

The MBBS fee at ESIC Medical College is one of the most affordable in India. Per Quora ESIC MBBS fee confirmation: Annual tuition fee = ₹1,00,000/year (recently revised, per ESIC norms). Hostel fee = ₹1,800/year. College security deposit = ₹5,000 (refundable). Hostel security deposit = ₹10,000 (refundable). Mess fee = at actuals. Total tuition for 4.5 academic years: approximately ₹4.5 lakhs. Total all-inclusive (tuition + hostel): approximately ₹4.59 lakhs for 4.5 years. This is significantly cheaper than comparable Delhi government colleges. IP Quota (ESIC ward) candidates pay the same government rate.

ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Basaidarapur received the Letter of Permission (LOP) from NMC for admitting the first batch of 50 MBBS students in AY 2025-26 — making 2025 the inauguration of the MBBS programme. Prior to this, the institute operated as ESI Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (ESI PGIMSR) offering only MD/MS PG courses since 2011. The hospital itself has been operational since 1971. The inaugural MBBS intake is 50 seats. The MBBS programme runs in the same 600-bed multi-specialty hospital campus.

The institute offers MD/MS in 11 disciplines with 54 total PG seats, plus DM Pulmonary Medicine (4 super-specialty seats). PG disciplines include: MD General Medicine, MD Microbiology, MD Pathology, MD Anaesthesiology, MD Dermatology & Venereology, MD Paediatrics, MS Orthopaedics, MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MS General Surgery, MS Ophthalmology, and one more clinical discipline. NEET PG 2024 most competitive: MD Dermatology (closing rank 697 for General AIQ last round). Overall NEET PG 2024 closing rank range: 697–59,562 across all disciplines. Admission: 50% AIQ via MCC + 50% Internal Quota also via MCC.
