GVP Medical College (Gayathri Vidya Parishad Institute of Health Care & Medical Technology) was established in 2016 by the Gayatri Vidya Parishad Trust, which was registered on 28 September 1988. The Trust is a pioneering educational society in Visakhapatnam that operates a degree college, PG college, three engineering colleges, and this medical college, along with various research and development centres.

GVP Medical College is currently permitted for 200 MBBS seats for AY 2025-26, as per NMC approval. The college started with 150 seats and received permission to increase to 200 seats during AY 2023-24.

GVP Medical College offers 46 PG seats across 14 specialties: MD General Medicine (4), MD Paediatrics (4), MD Anaesthesiology (6), MS General Surgery (6), MS Orthopaedics (4), MD Dermatology Venereology & Leprosy (3), MD Psychiatry (3), MD Respiratory Medicine (3), MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology (3), MS Otorhinolaryngology/ENT (3), MD Radio Diagnosis (2), MD Pathology (2), MD Community Medicine (2), and MS Ophthalmology (1).

The annual MBBS tuition fee is ₹16,500 for Category A (Competent Authority Quota), ₹13,20,000 for Category B (Management Quota), and ₹39,60,000 for Category C (NRI Quota). One-time fees are additional: Admission Fee (A: ₹25,000 / B: ₹35,000 / C: ₹45,000), Caution Deposit ₹50,000 (refundable), University Fee, and Registration/Processing Fee. Hostel charges are ₹1,50,000/year (Non-AC) or ₹2,10,000/year (AC) for twin-sharing rooms.
