Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. After completing the MBBS course and 1-year rotatory internship, graduates from GMERS institutions are required to undergo compulsory government service as per Gujarat state norms. Students who do not serve are required to pay a penalty bond amount. The specific bond amount and service duration are specified in the ACPUGMEC admissions prospectus for each academic year.
The total MBBS fee for the 5-year program (excluding the 1-year internship) is approximately ₹15.15 Lakhs, with an annual fee of around ₹3,03,010 per year. The fees are regulated by the Gujarat Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) and are highly subsidized compared to private medical colleges. Hostel fees are additional, estimated between ₹1,00,000 and ₹1,80,000 per year all-inclusive (including mess). Always verify the exact fee from the official ACPUGMEC prospectus before admission.
The GMERS Hospital, Dharpur is a large multi-specialty tertiary-level teaching hospital fully integrated with the college. It is equipped with a 24-bed NICU, 6-bed MICU, 6-bed SICU, 6-bed ICCU, 5-bed RICU, 10-bed Dialysis Centre, 20-bed Casualty, a blood bank, radiology department, and multiple modern operation theatres. All major clinical departments are functional, providing extensive hands-on clinical training with very high patient volume from across North Gujarat.
Admission is 100% merit-based through NEET-UG. There is strictly no management quota. 85% of seats are filled through Gujarat State Quota counselling by ACPUGMEC (www.medadmgujarat.org), and 15% are under the All India Quota managed by MCC. Candidates must register online, undergo document verification at a designated Help Centre, and participate in online seat allotment rounds.
