Government Medical College, Datia was established in 2018 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh as part of a strategic initiative to expand medical education to the Bundelkhand region — one of the most economically underserved areas of India. It is affiliated with MPMSU Jabalpur and recognised by NMC.

GMC Datia offers 120 MBBS seats per year, of which 18 are under All India Quota (AIQ via MCC) and 102 under MP State Quota (via DME Madhya Pradesh).

The annual MBBS tuition fee is approximately ₹1,00,000 per year for government quota students. Total fee for 4.5 years is approximately ₹4.5 lakh. Hostel and mess charges are additional. As a government college, there are no management or NRI quota seats.
