Government Medical College, Faizabad (also known as Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College, Faizabad / GMC Ayodhya) is a government medical college established in 2019 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Located on a 17-acre campus at Ganja, Pargana Hawali Awadh, Faizabad (Ayodhya district) – 224001, the college is currently affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow (previously KGMU Lucknow), and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). A unique advantage: GMC Faizabad is only approximately 3 km from Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya (AYJ) — making it one of the most airport-accessible government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. With 100 MBBS seats annually and MD/MS PG courses (50% AIQ + 50% State Quota), GMC Faizabad serves the culturally significant Ayodhya region and surrounding areas of central-eastern UP.
