The foundation stone was laid on 01-07-2007 by Late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. The first MBBS batch started in 2011-12 with 100 students. Established as a semiautonomous institute under Act 31 of 2007 spread over 37.23 acres.

120 MBBS seats for AY 2024-25 (annual renewal granted). LOP has been granted for increase to 150 seats for AY 2025-26. Seats are split: 15% All India Quota (MCC) and 85% State Quota (A, B, C Categories).
