Admission Process at IIM Bodh Gaya

Eligibility Criteria

  • MBA, MBA-DBM and MBA-HHM: bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST and PwD) and a valid CAT score meeting the overall and sectional cut-offs.
  • IPM: Class 12 in any stream with at least 60% marks in both Class 10 and Class 12 (55% for SC, ST and PwD) and a valid JIPMAT score.
  • Executive MBA: bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST and PwD) and at least three years of full-time work experience, with a CAT, GMAT or GRE score or the institute's own entrance test, followed by an interview.
  • PhD: master's degree or equivalent with a good academic record, with a valid CAT, GMAT, GRE or UGC-NET (JRF) score or the institute's research admission test, and a final interview.

Selection Process for the MBA

The CAP process shortlists candidates for the Personal Interview using minimum overall and sectional CAT percentiles. The final merit list for the 2026-28 batch gives 50% weightage to the CAT score, 25% to the Personal Interview and 25% to the candidate's profile, which covers academic record, work experience and diversity. Offers are then made category-wise on the merit rank, and the process is run independently by each participating IIM at the final stage.

IPM and Other Routes

The Integrated Programme in Management is admitted through JIPMAT conducted by the National Testing Agency jointly for IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. The merit list is prepared on the JIPMAT score along with academic and gender-diversity considerations, and there is no separate group discussion or interview. The Executive MBA and the PhD programmes rely on test scores followed by an interview, and the institute announces dates and application windows on its admissions portal for each cycle.

Candidates should keep their documents ready, including mark sheets, category certificates where applicable and work-experience proof, and should track the CAP schedule closely because dates for registration, interviews and fee payment are tightly sequenced.
