IIT Bhilai offers M.Tech across 13 specializations from 6 departments: Bioengineering and Biomedical Devices (Bioscience dept.); CSE and Data Science & AI (CSE dept.); Electric Vehicle Technology, Power Systems & Power Electronics, and Control & Instrumentation (EE dept.); Communication & Signal Processing and Microelectronics & VLSI (ECE dept.); Materials Science & Metallurgical Engineering (MSME dept.); Design & Manufacturing and Thermal & Fluids Engineering (ME dept.); and Mechatronics Engineering. All M.Tech admissions are through GATE via COAP counselling. Bioengineering and Biomedical Devices also accept GPAT scores.

The B.Tech tuition fee is INR 2,00,000/year (INR 8 Lakhs total for 4 years). The total all-inclusive 4-year cost including one-time fees, hostel, and charges is approximately INR 9.02 Lakhs for General/OBC students with family income above INR 5 LPA. SC/ST/PwD students receive a 100% tuition waiver. Students with family income below INR 1 LPA get full remission; those with INR 1–5 LPA income get 2/3rd remission (effective annual tuition ~INR 66,666).

M.Tech tuition fee at IIT Bhilai is INR 12,500/year (INR 25,000 total for 2 years). The total all-inclusive M.Tech cost (tuition + other charges) is approximately INR 88,000. GATE-qualified students receive INR 12,400/month MHRD fellowship for 21 months, making M.Tech essentially cost-neutral or net-positive. Electric Vehicle Technology has a slightly different all-inclusive cost of ~INR 1.08 Lakhs.
