IIT Jodhpur's 852-acre permanent campus is the first fully planned campus among all technical institutes in India, inaugurated in August 2017. Designed with climate-responsive red sandstone architecture suited for the Rajasthan desert, it has won the prestigious GRIHA Exemplary Performance Award for sustainability. The campus houses 17 hostels with a residential capacity of 4,000 students, all with air-conditioned, WiFi-enabled, fully furnished rooms. It also features a 24×7 Primary Health Centre, the ANVISA innovation sandbox, i-Hub DRISHTI, a Technology Innovation Hub, and a technology park for AIoT and MedTech startups.

As per NIRF 2025, IIT Jodhpur is ranked 27th in Engineering, 66th Overall, and 98th in the Management category. In NIRF 2024, it was ranked 28th in Engineering. According to Collegedunia's Engineering Ranking 2025, IITJ stands 21st out of 500 engineering colleges in India.

During the 2025 placement season, IIT Jodhpur received 500+ offers including 21+ international offers, 28+ PPOs, and 18+ PSU offers. The BTech CSE placement rate was 98.84% with an average package of INR 21.26 LPA. The overall BTech highest package was INR 110 LPA (combined), with CSE domestic highest at INR 56 LPA. The MBA programme saw a highest package of INR 25.11 LPA and average of INR 11.04 LPA. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, American Express, and ISRO, among 280+ companies.

IIT Jodhpur hosts several nationally supported research centres: i-Hub DRISHTI (under NM-ICPS), the ANVISA Innovation Sandbox, the Rishabh Centre for Research and Innovation in Clean Energy (RCRICE), a Centre for Sustainable Drinking Water (Jal Jeevan Mission), and an upcoming MedTech Innovation Centre in collaboration with AIIMS Jodhpur. A technology park is also proposed for AIoT and medical-device startups. The institute holds multiple DST-funded projects and has been recognised with Abdul Kalam fellowships and DAAD ambassador appointments.
