Yes. IIT Roorkee is the oldest engineering institution in India, founded in 1847 as the Thomason College of Civil Engineering during the East India Company era. It was renamed University of Roorkee in 1949 and converted to IIT status by the Government of India on September 21, 2001. IIT Roorkee is largely a residential campus with 16 hostels (Bhawans) — 10 for boys, 2 for girls (Sarojini Bhawan and Kasturba Bhawan), 1 new co-ed hostel (Vigyan Kunj), and 9 hostels for married students, doctoral scholars, and foreign students. All hostels have cybercafes, Wi-Fi, canteens, gyms, indoor games, laundry facilities, and mess services. Hostel charges are approximately INR 7,500 per semester.
