MVJ stands for Shri M.V. Jayaram — a great visionary who dedicated his life to the upliftment of the education sector. The college was established in his honour in 2001 by the Venkatesha Education Society. MVJMC is a Tamil Linguistic Minority institution reflecting the Tamil community's commitment to education in Karnataka.

MVJMC is a private medical college affiliated to RGUHS, Bengaluru, sponsored by Venkatesha Education Society. It is a Tamil Linguistic Minority institution. Admissions for all MBBS seats (Government, Management, NRI quota) are through KEA Karnataka. It is NOT a government college.

150 NMC-approved MBBS seats; 12 MD/MS postgraduate degree programmes + 6 PG diploma courses (NMC-recognized). PG admissions via NEET PG through KEA and MCC.

Government quota: ~₹1,41,000–₹1,53,571/year. Management quota: ~₹9,94,000/year. NRI quota: ~₹40,12,000/year. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: MVJMC currently does NOT provide an MBBS internship stipend — unlike government colleges (₹30,000/month) and many private colleges. Monthly PG stipends are provided to MD/MS residents as per Karnataka norms.
