NBMCH is the ONLY tertiary referral centre for all of North Bengal — 7+ districts (Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda) plus patients from Sikkim, Bhutan, Nepal, and parts of Bihar and Assam. This gives exceptional clinical exposure to mountain, tropical, and cross-border patient demographics unavailable at most Indian medical colleges.
