Yes. As per Government of Maharashtra Resolution No. MED 1007/CR-490/07/Ed-2 dated 8 February 2008, all MBBS graduates from government college seats (AIQ and state quota) must sign a bond to serve the Government of Maharashtra, local self-government, or Defence services for one year after internship. Non-compliance requires payment of a non-refundable penalty of ₹10,00,000. PG graduates also have a compulsory service obligation.
