As a government medical college, VIMS Bellary graduates are primarily expected to serve in government health services through the compulsory rural service bond post-MBBS. The government of Karnataka's Health and Family Welfare Department absorbs a large number of VIMS graduates every year. The college has produced one student who ranked 15th nationally in the All India PG Entrance Examination. Over 80% of students pass in RGUHS university examinations each year. No traditional campus placement cell exists — graduates pursue government service, private hospital careers, or PG/Super-Specialty studies.
