CSIR UGC NET December 2026: Application Form, Dates & Exam
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the public notice for Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 and invited online applications from eligible candidates. The examination is conducted to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes in eligible Indian universities and colleges through Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
The online application process has started from 7 October 2026 and candidates can submit their applications through the official CSIR-NET website until 5 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM. The last date for successful fee payment without late fee is also 5 November 2026.
Candidates who miss the regular deadline can submit their applications with a late fee of ₹500 from 6 November to 9 November 2026. The last date for successful payment of the late fee is 9 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM. Application corrections will be available online from 10 to 12 November 2026.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 examination is scheduled for 19, 22 and 27 December 2026. The exam will be conducted in two shifts: 9:00 AM–12:00 Noon and 3:00 PM–6:00 PM, with a duration of 180 minutes.
The examination will cover Chemical Sciences, Earth/Atmospheric/Ocean & Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences & Bio-Technology, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences. The question paper will be available in English and Hindi.
