MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Resignation Facility Opens: Dates & Rules
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued Notice No. 16 regarding the Resignation/Seat Withdrawal facility for Round 1 of UG Counselling 2026. The facility is available specifically for FREEZE candidates who had joined their Round 1 seat allotted through MCC counselling but now wish to resign or withdraw from the seat.
According to the notice, eligible candidates can resign from their joined Round 1 seat from 2:00 PM on August 31, 2026, until 1:00 PM on September 2, 2026. Candidates who wish to resign must physically report to their allotted institute to complete the resignation process.
MCC has clarified that resignation submitted within the prescribed time period will be allowed without forfeiture of the Security Deposit. Candidates should therefore ensure that the resignation is completed within the specified window.
An important requirement is that the Nodal Officer of the admitted institute must generate the Resignation Letter/Seat Withdrawal Slip online through the portal provided by MCC. Candidates should make sure that this online document is generated successfully after completing the resignation process. If the Resignation Letter or Seat Withdrawal Slip is not generated online, the resignation will be considered “Null & Void.”
