MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026: Notice on Qualifying Percentile Reduction Declared Fake

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India, has issued an advisory dated October 13, 2026, warning candidates about a fake notice circulating online regarding a reduction in the NEET UG Counselling 2026 qualifying percentile. According to the official notice, MCC has received information that a notice claiming a reduction in the qualifying percentile is being circulated publicly. The committee has clarified that the competent authority has not taken any decision to reduce the percentile and has explicitly declared the circulating notice fake. MCC has also reiterated that its only official website is www.mcc.nic.in. Candidates have been advised to remain cautious of fraudulent websites and agents and to treat counselling-related information published on the official MCC website as authentic. The committee has further instructed candidates to report any suspected fraudulent website or agent to MCC immediately. Candidates should avoid relying on unverified social media posts, forwarded messages or unofficial websites for updates about qualifying percentiles and counselling procedures. NEET UG candidates participating in the 2026 counselling process should verify any announcement regarding eligibility, qualifying criteria, seat allotment or counselling schedules directly through the official MCC website before taking action. The advisory aims to prevent candidates from being misled by false information during the counselling process.
