NEET-MDS 2026 Revised Cut-Off: NBEMS Lowers Qualifying Percentile for All Categories
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced revised qualifying cut-off scores for NEET-MDS 2026 for the 2026–27 academic session. The notice, dated October 14, 2026, follows a Ministry of Health and Family Welfare letter issued on October 12, 2026, regarding the reduction of minimum qualifying percentiles.
Under the revised criteria, the qualifying percentile for General and EWS candidates has been reduced from the original 50th percentile to 29.424, with the qualifying score decreasing from 308 to 234 out of 960. For General-PwBD candidates, the qualifying percentile has been lowered from the 45th to 24.424, and the cut-off score has decreased from 289 to 218.
For SC, ST and OBC candidates, including PwBD candidates belonging to these categories, the qualifying percentile has been reduced from the 40th to 19.424. Their revised qualifying score is 200, compared with the original cut-off of 271.
NBEMS has clarified that the reduction in qualifying percentiles does not change the NEET-MDS 2026 ranks published with the result notification dated June 2, 2026. Candidates must continue to satisfy the eligibility conditions specified in the NEET-MDS 2026 Information Bulletin. Their candidature remains provisional and may be subject to Face ID or biometric verification wherever required.
