UPTAC 2026: Clarification on Ranks Displayed with a Decimal Point
Clarification: Ranks Displayed with a Decimal Point (XXX.XX)
UPTAC 2026 has issued a clarification stating that ranks displayed with a decimal point (in the format XXX.XX) are the ranks generated after application of Rural Weightage. Candidates should keep this in mind while reviewing their rank in the counselling records.
Rural Weightage is an additional consideration extended to eligible candidates from notified rural areas as per UPTAC's admission rules, and it can adjust a candidate's effective rank used for seat allotment purposes. This clarification is meant to prevent confusion among candidates who may otherwise assume a decimal rank is a data entry error rather than a rural-weightage-adjusted figure.
Candidates who see a decimal-point rank against their name and are unsure whether Rural Weightage applies to them should cross-check their eligibility category in their original UPTAC registration and, if in doubt, reach out to the UPTAC counselling helpdesk for confirmation before the next round of choice-filling.
