Frequently Asked Questions

You must be an Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) with a primary medical qualification (MBBS equivalent) from a university outside India. The degree must be recognized by the respective medical authority and listed by the World Directory of Medical Schools. You must have an Eligibility Certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) if applicable.
Visit the official NBE website (natboard.edu.in), register with your details, fill the application form, upload required documents (degree certificate, passport, OCI card if applicable), and pay the fee online. The application fee is INR 7,080.
FMGE is conducted twice a year in January (December session) and June. You can attempt it unlimited times until you pass. There is no age limit or attempt limit.
Candidates must score at least 150 marks out of 300 to pass the FMGE exam. The exam consists of 300 MCQs with 1 mark each, and there is negative marking of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
