WBJEE 2026 Seat Allotment: Round 1 Result Released Today

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has released the WBJEE 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result today, July 7, 2026, on the official counselling portal, wbjeeb.nic.in. Candidates who registered for WBJEE 2026 counselling and locked their choices can now log in using their roll number, password, and security pin to check the college and course they have been allotted. The allotment has been prepared on the basis of candidates' WBJEE or JEE Main 2026 rank, the choices filled during counselling, category, and the availability of seats across participating institutes.

No allotment letters are being sent to candidates by post, email, or SMS, and students must check their status directly on the official portal. Those who have been allotted a seat need to act quickly, as the window for paying the seat acceptance fee and reporting to the allotted institute for document verification is open only from July 7 to July 11, 2026.

Options Available After WBJEE 2026 Seat Allotment

Once a seat is allotted in Round 1, candidates have three choices, and the option they pick determines whether they remain in the running for a better seat in the following rounds.

  • Accept and Freeze: Pay the seat acceptance fee and download the allotment letter to confirm admission at the allotted institute, subject to physical document verification. Candidates choosing this option will not participate in further allotment rounds.
  • Accept with Upgradation ('Upgradation Yes'): Pay the acceptance fee and download the provisional letter while remaining eligible for a better college or branch in Round 2 or the mop-up round. If upgraded, the earlier seat is released automatically.
  • Do Nothing: Candidates who take no action are not considered for admission in the current allotment cycle, and their candidature lapses for that round.

Candidates should note that once allotted a seat for the first time in any round, paying the Rs. 5,000 seat acceptance fee and completing physical document verification at the institute is mandatory to remain active in the counselling process. Failure to pay the fee will lead to cancellation of the current allotment, and the candidate will also not be considered for the upgradation round.

Documents Required at the Time of Reporting

Candidates allotted a seat must report to their allotted institute's reporting centre between July 7 and July 11, 2026, carrying original documents along with self-attested photocopies for verification. Admission is confirmed only after successful physical verification at the institute, and the online allotment letter remains provisional until this step is completed. Carrying an incomplete set of documents at the reporting centre can lead to cancellation of an allotted seat even after the acceptance fee has already been paid, so candidates are advised to prepare all required documents well in advance.

What If You Don't Get a Seat in Round 1?

Candidates who do not receive a seat allotment in Round 1 need not worry, as WBJEE counselling is conducted across three structured rounds followed by a mop-up round. Such candidates automatically remain eligible for Round 2, for which the seat allotment result is scheduled for July 21, 2026, without any need to register again, since a single counselling registration covers all rounds of the process.
