About BA

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) is a three-year undergraduate program for students who have completed Class 12 in any stream, offering a broad choice of subject majors across the humanities and social sciences. Many universities offer both a general BA (multiple subjects) and a BA Honors (single subject specialization) track.

Admission is primarily through CUET UG at central and several state/private universities, with many colleges also admitting directly on the basis of Class 12 marks. A handful of institutes and honors programs run their own entrance tests or interviews. The program covers foundation and major-subject papers across the first two years, followed by advanced coursework and (in honors tracks) a research project in the final year.
