All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal, established in 2012 under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), is one of India's premier Institutes of National Importance. Located on a 150-acre campus in Saket Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, it is fully funded and governed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. AIIMS Bhopal holds the distinction of being the first medical institute in the country to offer a course in Management of CBRNE Disasters, in collaboration with IGNOU, INMAS, and DRDO. The institute offers MBBS (125 seats), B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, paramedical B.Sc courses, postgraduate MD/MS (22+ courses across 35 departments), DM, MCh, and PhD programs. Admission to MBBS is via NEET UG and to PG courses via INI CET. The attached super-specialty teaching hospital provides tertiary care across all disciplines with advanced ICUs, CathLab, and 1000+ beds. AIIMS Bhopal is ranked 25th in the Medical category by NIRF 2025 and in the 101–150 band in NIRF Overall. AIIMS Bhopal was established in 2012 under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) as an Institute of National Importance by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The 2024 NEET UG general category closing rank for AIIMS Bhopal MBBS was approximately 510 (score ~510 marks out of 720). OBC closing rank was approximately 2,500; SC approximately 35,000; ST approximately 55,000. Competition is extremely high.
AIIMS Bhopal is the first medical college in India to offer a PG Certificate course in Management of CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives) Disasters, in collaboration with IGNOU, INMAS, and DRDO. It also houses a 1000+ bed super-specialty hospital, an octagonal 1000-seat auditorium, and offers 35 departments and 242+ faculty.
Admission to MD/MS/DM/MCh programs at AIIMS Bhopal is via INI CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test), not NEET PG. INI CET is conducted by AIIMS Delhi for all AIIMS, JIPMER, PGI, and other INIs.
