AIIMS Deoghar has been set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The objective is to reduce regional imbalances in the country with regard to availability of affordable and reliable tertiary level healthcare and also to build the country's capacity for high-quality medical education and research. Our main objective is to establish an institution of excellence that excels in medical education, healthcare delivery, and research with a human touch. Our vision is in the production of highly competent medical and paramedical professionals who are not only efficient but also socially responsible. AIIMS Deoghar is granted autonomy to experiment with innovation in medical education beyond the conventional boundaries of the Medical Council of India, thus putting it in a position to be a trendsetter for policy and academic reform. Our vision is centered on creating a culture that supports research, improved practices of teaching, and quality patient care. We are working towards global standards of delivery of healthcare and academic rendering of services. By combining sophisticated science and empathy, we educate students to address emerging 21st-century healthcare needs. Our research programs focus on national and local health problems, allowing students to work on meaningful and applicable projects.
