Admission Process at Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli
Steps to Apply
- Register and fill in the online application form on the BIM admission portal
- Upload a scanned passport-size photograph and signature, along with a community certificate where applicable
- Pay the non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 1,500 (Rs. 1,000 for SC/SCA/ST candidates) through UPI, credit card, debit card or net banking
- Get shortlisted on the basis of the CAT, XAT or GMAT score
- Appear for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted in major cities
- Receive the final selection result and pay the first-year fee to confirm the seat
Candidates need a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or an equivalent qualification, in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent marks from a recognized university. Students in the final year of their degree may apply, provided they complete the degree with the minimum marks by the date specified by BIM. Because no particular undergraduate stream is required, engineers, commerce graduates, science graduates and arts graduates all compete for the 120 seats in the same pool.
The final selection is holistic. GD and PI performance, the entrance-exam score, the academic record and relevant work experience are all considered together, so a high score alone does not guarantee a seat and a moderate score can be balanced by a strong interview and a good academic profile. The thinking behind this approach is explained on the cutoff page.
Once a seat is offered, the first-year payment for the 2026-28 batch is Rs. 9,32,012, which includes the admission fee of Rs. 2,750, tuition of Rs. 7,19,992, accommodation of Rs. 53,800, a refundable caution deposit of Rs. 10,000 and a mess deposit of Rs. 7,000, among other charges. The second-year payment is Rs. 9,38,833. Candidates should plan these amounts in advance and compare them on the fee structure page.
For application queries the admissions office can be reached at admissions@bim.edu or on 94433 18296, and the main institute line is 0431-2520502. Applicants who need financial help can read about education loan options such as the SBI Scholar Loan Scheme on the scholarship page.
Applicants are advised to prepare for the GD and PI by revisiting current business affairs, their own academic and work background, and the reasons for choosing a particular specialisation. Early applicants can also use the time between the exam result and the interview round to shortlist the specialisations that match their career goals.
