Government Medical College, Rampur, Basti (GMC Basti), also known as Maharshi Vashishtha Autonomous State Medical College, Basti (MVASMC Basti), is a government medical college established in 2019 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Named after the revered ancient sage Maharshi Vashishtha, the college is located on a 17-acre campus at Village Rampur, Sonupar Road, Basti – 272124. Currently affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow (previously KGMU Lucknow), and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), GMC Basti offers 100 MBBS seats and MD/MS/Diploma PG courses (50% AIQ + 50% UP State Quota). The 300-bed attached government teaching hospital provides 24x7 clinical training across all major departments.
