About IEC College of Engineering and Technology
IEC College of Engineering and Technology (IEC CET), established in 1999, is one of the oldest and most prominent private engineering institutions in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh — and the first private engineering college to be established in Greater Noida's Knowledge Park area. It forms the flagship campus of the IEC Group of Institutions, whose roots trace back to 1981 when Sh. R.L. Gupta founded the India Education Centre (IEC) with a vision to position India as a global leader in Information Technology. The institute was corporatised in 1994 as IEC Education Ltd. (now listed on the Bombay and Delhi Stock Exchanges and ISO 9001 certified) before founding the engineering college in 1999. Located at Plot No. 4, Surajpur Kasna Road, Knowledge Park I, Greater Noida, IEC CET is positioned along NH-24 and served by the Aqua Line metro (Knowledge Park I, Knowledge Park II, and Pari Chowk stations), making it easily accessible from across Greater Noida, Noida, and Delhi NCR. The 17-acre campus houses approximately 600,000 sq. ft. of built-up area across nine academic blocks. IEC CET is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, and is approved by AICTE, PCI, and U.P. BTE. Over 25 years of operation, IEC has produced over 15,000 alumni employed across India's leading corporations. The institution has been ranked 3rd in Uttar Pradesh by the CSR-GHRDC Engineering Colleges Survey and 25th among India's top private engineering colleges by Electronics for You magazine. The academic portfolio at IEC is highly diversified — spanning B.Tech (8 specialisations + Lateral Entry), M.Tech (4 specialisations), MBA, MCA, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, D.Pharm, BBA, BCA, B.Com (H), B.Sc, BA, LLB, and BA-LLB. The campus houses approximately 1,000 workstations on 24x7 LAN/Wi-Fi, branch-specific labs, a digitised library, a gymnasium, sports facilities, separate secured hostels for boys and girls, an on-campus medical centre, ATM, cafeteria, and full bus fleet service across NCR. The Training and Placement Cell (T&P) begins placement preparation from the first year in partnership with Aspiring Minds, Monster, TPC Global, Rank Junction, and Nicco Venture. In 2024-25, 241 students were placed with a highest package of ₹12 LPA and average of ₹4–4.5 LPA. B.Tech admissions are primarily through UPTAC (UP Technical Admission Counselling) based on JEE Main scores. 85% of B.Tech seats are filled via UPTAC; 15% are available via management/direct quota for students with minimum 50% in PCM (70%+ preferred for direct admission without JEE). B.Tech Lateral Entry (for diploma holders with 45%+) is through JEECUP counselling. Registration fee: ₹1,500. Contact: 1800-3000-8301 (toll-free).
IEC offers: (1) ₹25,000 off for students with 90%+ in PCM at admission; (2) Semester scholarships: 70%+ = ₹10K off, 80%+ = ₹20K off, 90%+ = 50% tuition fee waiver (UP domicile students); (3) UP Government post-matric scholarship for SC/ST/OBC students; (4) UPSEE/UPTAC fee waiver for eligible counselling-admitted students; (5) Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships (CSSS) — up to ₹20,000/year for top 20 percentile Class 12 scorers.
IEC offers M.Tech in 4 specialisations: CSE, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering — plus M.Tech in Power Systems (Electrical). All M.Tech programmes are 2 years with an annual fee of approximately ₹57,500 and a total fee of ~₹1.15 Lakhs. Admission requires a valid GATE score (preferred) or AKTU UPTAC counselling. Non-GATE candidates are also considered on merit.
IEC offers B.Tech in 8 specialisations: CSE (₹4.58L total), CSE AI & ML (₹4.58L), IT (₹4.48L), Data Science (₹4.48L), ECE (₹3.57L), Electrical Engineering (₹3.48L), Mechanical Engineering (₹3.48L), and Civil Engineering (₹3.48L).
