About Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College and Hospital, Saharsa

Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College & Hospital (LBKMCH), Saharsa, was conceived by Lord Buddha Shiksha Pratisthan — a Buddhist Minority society registered under Society Registration Act 21 of 1860, Government of Bihar (Reg. No. 033/2002-03), and founded by Dr. P.K. Singh in 2012. Located at NH-231 (formerly NH-107), Baijnathpur, Saharsa, it is the first medical college in the Koshi Division of Bihar. The college is affiliated with Bihar University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Patna, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) since 2019 with a FAIMER School ID: F0007356. It is also listed with the WHO. LBKMCH offers MBBS (150 seats from 2024), MD, and MS programs across 16+ PG specializations. The 35-acre campus houses a 1170+ bed teaching hospital with modern ICU, OT, Emergency Services, NABL-accredited Virology Lab, IVF Centre, MRI, CT Scan, and advanced diagnostic services.
