Midnapore Medical College and Hospital (MMCH), Midnapore, is a prestigious government medical college established in 2004 (earlier Midnapur Sadar Hospital, converted to full medical college by Government of West Bengal). Located on a 26-acre lush green campus at Vidyasagar Road, Paschim Medinipur – 721101, MMCH is affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), MCI, and UGC. Offering 200 MBBS seats annually and 66 PG seats (MD/MS in 9 specialities) + DM/MCh, MMCH is one of the largest government medical colleges in South Bengal. The attached hospital has 1,031+ beds — 'affiliated with one of the largest hospitals in the Midnapore district' — providing high patient turnover ideal for practical clinical training across Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, OBG, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Radiodiagnosis, Pharmacology, and Forensic Medicine.
