Admission Process at Sasmira's Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR)
Candidates first register on the State CET Cell's centralised portal, fill college and branch preferences, and are allotted seats across successive CAP rounds based on merit and category reservation. Institutes such as SIMSR also run Against-CAP (ACAP) and Institute Level (IL) rounds to fill any seats that remain vacant after the state-level CAP rounds conclude, with merit lists and schedule notices published on the institute's own admissions page.
- Graduation mark sheets and degree certificate (or provisional certificate for final-year candidates)
- MAH-MBA/MMS-CET, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT or CAT scorecard, as applicable
- Domicile certificate (for Maharashtra State quota candidates)
- Category/caste validity certificate, where applicable
- Passport-size photographs and identity proof
- Provisional/final CAP allotment letter
Candidates allotted a seat must report to SIMSR with original documents for verification and to complete admission formalities, including payment of the Tuition and Development Fee approved by the Fee Regulating Authority. Applicants should review the current fee structure and check available scholarship options in advance of reporting.
For the Ph.D. (Management) programme, admission follows the University of Mumbai's Ph.D. ordinances: candidates with a qualifying NET, SLET or GATE score, or a UGC/CSIR JRF qualification, are shortlisted for a Research Aptitude Test and Personal Interview conducted by SIMSR's Research Recognition Committee, after which selected candidates proceed to registration and coursework. Details on the institute's can help students evaluate SIMSR before enrolling.
Candidates opting for the All India Quota route through CMAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT or CAT should note that SIMSR conducts its own institute-level shortlisting for these seats, which may include a Group Discussion and Personal Interview in addition to the entrance score, so applicants are advised to track institute notifications closely once their CMAT/MAT/ATMA/XAT/CAT scorecards are released each admission cycle.
