Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026: Revised MBBS Seat Matrix Released
The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has released an Educational Notice regarding the revised MBBS seat matrix during the ongoing counselling and admission process for the academic year 2026-27.
According to the notice, the revised seat matrix has been uploaded following the surrender of an MBBS seat by a candidate under the Scheduled Caste (SC) category during the ongoing counselling and admission process. The revision has also been made in pursuance of an order dated 01 October 2026 passed by the Hon’ble High Court in WP(C)/5429/2026.
The updated seat matrix is relevant for candidates participating in the ongoing Assam MBBS counselling process. Following the revision, all eligible candidates will be allowed to modify their choices before the final locking of choices, if they wish to make changes based on the updated seat availability.
Candidates are therefore advised to carefully review the revised seat matrix before finalising their preferences. The change is particularly important for candidates whose preferred colleges or categories may be affected by the newly available seat.
The Directorate has advised candidates to regularly visit the official DME Assam website for further counselling updates and instructions.
