DU Admission 2026: University Warns Against AI-Generated or Digitally Altered Documents
Advisory: Regarding Submission of Authentic/Valid Documents/Certificates
The Admission Branch, University of Delhi, has issued a public notice stating that it has come to its attention that several candidates applying for various Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes are uploading artificial intelligence (AI) generated, digitally altered, or heavily edited documents.
With the rising accessibility of AI editing and image-generation tools, admission bodies across the country have been tightening document-verification protocols to preserve the fairness of the admission process. This advisory is part of that broader push, and candidates should treat it as a serious compliance requirement rather than a routine formality.
Applicants have been strictly warned that such practices undermine the integrity of the admission process. All candidates must comply with the following instructions with immediate effect:

The University has further stated that it reserves the right to initiate legal action against candidates found using fraudulent or AI-altered media at any stage of the admission process. Candidates are strongly advised to review their submitted documents and ensure total compliance with these guidelines.
Candidates who are unsure whether a document meets the University's authenticity standard should re-download or re-scan the original document directly from the issuing board, university, or government portal, rather than relying on a previously edited or compressed copy. Keeping the original file formats and avoiding any third-party editing tools before upload is the safest way to remain compliant.
