KEA Issues Official Notice on Seat Cancellation (17 September 2026)
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued an official circular (No. ED/KEA/ADMN/CR-11/2026, dated 17-09-2026) opening a fresh seat-cancellation window for Medical and Dental seat allotment.

Background
1.Candidates allotted seats in both MCC and KEA counselling, who wished to accept their MCC-allotted seat, were earlier given time to select "Choice-4" and exit the KEA counselling process.
2.Based on these cancelled seats, KEA conducted its second round of seat allotment , with final results published on 16-09-2026.
New Cancellation Window Opened
1. After the second-round results, several candidates have requested cancellation of their KEA-allotted seat, citing various reasons, intending instead to accept seats allotted through MCC or their respective state quota.
2. KEA is now providing an exit window from 4:00 PM on 17-09-2026 to 5:00 PM on 20-09-2026 for such cancellations.
3. Seats surrendered during this window will be considered for the third round of seat allotment.
4. Candidates who were not allotted a seat in MCC counselling but wish to cancel their KEA allotment may also do so as per the same process (details in the official information bulletin), and may participate in the third round of Medical/Dental counselling if interested, subject to applicable conditions.

What Candidates Should Do
1. Candidates wanting to switch from their KEA seat to an MCC/state-allotted seat must exit before 5:00 PM on 20-09-2026 to avoid the steeper Round-3 penalty slab.
2. Read the penalty table carefully before cancelling — charges increase sharply after each subsequent round.
