Maharashtra ACAP Admission 2026: Institution-Level & Vacant Seats

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Mumbai has issued a circular regarding the admission process for institution-level seats and vacant seats remaining after completion of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds for the academic year 2026–27. The circular was issued on September 2, 2026 and provides important instructions for participating institutions, candidates and parents. As per the notice, colleges must strictly follow the provisions of the Information Brochure, particularly Rule 13, while conducting institution-level admissions. Such admissions can be conducted only after all CAP rounds have been completely completed. The vacant seats must be allotted to candidates according to inter-se merit. To ensure transparency, colleges are required to publish their admission rules, procedure and information brochure on their official websites. Interested candidates can apply directly to the concerned institution or submit an Institution-Level Option Form through their CAP Portal login. After receiving applications, colleges must prepare an official category-wise merit list by considering both direct applications and the candidate list received from the CET Cell. The merit list must be displayed on the college notice board as well as its official website. The CET Cell has also mandated daily reporting of candidates who attended and those who were admitted. Once admission is confirmed, the institution must immediately record it on the official CAP Portal and inform the CET Cell.
