UP NEET UG 2026 Counselling – Important Directions for Further Counselling Process
The Directorate General, Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh has issued important directions regarding the UP NEET UG 2026 online counselling process.
As per the government directions, candidates who have already taken admission through Round 1 counselling in government/private medical colleges will retain their admission.
For the academic session 2026-27, four government medical colleges — Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Jaunpur and Saharanpur — will not be included in the upcoming counselling rounds under the applicable reservation arrangement until a decision is received in the Special Leave Petition pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Admission in these medical colleges through the first round of counselling will remain subject to the final decision in the Special Leave Petition.
The notice further states that an increase in MBBS seats in government/private medical colleges can only be made with the approval of the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi.
Candidates are advised to follow the official UP NEET UG counselling updates and instructions issued by the concerned authorities.
