West Bengal NEET UG 2026 Round 2: Candidates Allowed to Re-Register for Round 3 After Missing Security Deposit

The West Bengal Department of Health and Family Welfare, Directorate of Medical Education has issued an important notice dated September 9, 2026, regarding the WB NEET UG Medical & Dental Counselling 2026 process. As a one-time measure for Round 2, candidates who remained unallotted till Round 2 and could not pay the required security deposit of ₹2,00,000 for Private Medical/Dental Colleges State Quota or ₹5,00,000 for Management Quota seats may request re-initialisation of their candidature. Eligible candidates must send a request only from their registered email ID to westbengalcounsellingcell@gmail.com. The request window will remain open from 10:00 AM on September 16, 2026, to midnight on September 18, 2026. After their candidature is initialised, candidates will be allowed to re-register their candidate details and pay the registration fee and security deposit afresh, enabling participation from Round 3 onwards. The notice clarifies that this facility is available only in Round 2 and does not create a precedent for future rounds. Candidates who had already paid the ₹2 lakh security deposit for Private College State Quota seats will receive the security deposit only after completion of the entire counselling process, while their earlier registration fee will be forfeited. The notice also states that from Round 3 onwards, admission becomes mandatory after allotment, as seat surrender will not be permitted. Candidates are advised to contact the concerned private college regarding fee-payment procedures.
