NEST (National Entrance Screening Test) is a compulsory online computer-based national entrance test for admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc programme at NISER Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai, both autonomous institutions of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
NEST 2026 was conducted on 06 June 2026 (Saturday) starting at 2:00 PM.
Candidates must have studied at least 3 of 4 basic science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) in classes XI-XII, passed class XII in 2024/2025 or appearing in 2026, with minimum 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST/Divyangjan). There is no upper age limit.
Female applicants (any category), SC/ST/Divyangjan, and UR-EWS applicants pay INR 700. Male/Other applicants of UR/OBC category pay INR 1,400.
The NEST 2026 result (quicklook) was declared on 24 June 2026 at 4:00 pm. Scorecards for qualified candidates became available for download from 25 June 2026, 9:00 pm.
Candidates must carry a printed (hard copy) admit card and a valid original Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, DL, or 10th Marksheet). Digital copies of the admit card on mobile phones are not accepted.
Generally no. In exceptional or genuine cases, candidates may email nest-exam@niser.ac.in with supporting documents and justification; the final decision rests with the competent authority.

NISER Bhubaneswar has 200 seats and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai has 57 seats (tentative) for the current year, including reserved category seats and 2 supernumerary seats each for J&K/Ladakh candidates.
