About MA
A Master of Arts (MA) is a two-year postgraduate program for graduates (typically BA, though many programs accept other backgrounds) looking to specialize deeply in a humanities or social science subject, move into academia or research, or build domain expertise for competitive exams and policy roles.
Admission is primarily through CUET PG at central and several state/private universities, with many colleges also admitting directly on the basis of graduation marks. A handful of institutes run their own postgraduate entrance tests or interviews. The program covers core and elective coursework in the first year, followed by advanced seminars and a research dissertation in the second.
