The Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, has released the provisional seat allocation result for Round 2 of the state's MBBS and BDS counselling, conducted on the basis of NEET UG 2026 scores. The result, issued vide Notice dated 11 September 2026, lists 368 candidates provisionally allotted seats across government and private medical and dental colleges in the state.

Latest Update: Round 2 Provisional List Out With 368 Candidates

According to the official notice, the provisional list carries the merit number, application number, candidate name, allotted institute, and both the applied and allotted quota/category for each of the 368 candidates. AMRU has clarified that this is only a provisional allocation, is indicative in nature, and remains subject to change before the final list is issued.

Background: How HP NEET UG Counselling Works

AMRU conducts centralised counselling on behalf of the Himachal Pradesh government for admission to MBBS and BDS seats in the state's government and private medical and dental colleges, based on NEET UG merit. As per the final prospectus for the 2026 session, HP NEET UG counselling runs across three regular rounds followed by a stray vacancy round, each with its own merit list, choice-filling window, and seat allocation. Round 1 provisional and final seat allocation for the 2026 session were completed in August, after which candidates who did not receive a seat, or who wished to exercise upgraded choices, were allowed to submit a fresh application for Round 2 between 31 August and 2 September 2026.

What the Provisional Result Covers

The Round 2 provisional list spans admissions to MBBS seats at government colleges including Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla, Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda in Kangra, Dr RadhaKrishnan Government Medical College Hamirpur, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital at Nerchowk in Mandi, Dr Yashwant Parmar Government Medical College Nahan in Sirmour, and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College in Chamba, along with the private Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College in Kumarhatti, Solan. On the dental side, the list covers the government-run H.P. Government Dental College and Hospital, Shimla, and private institutes such as Himachal Dental College Sunder Nagar, Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences in Paonta Sahib, Sirmour, and Bhojia Dental College and Hospital, Nalagarh.

  1. Visit the official AMRU website, amruhp.ac.in.
  2. Go to the Admissions or Counselling section for MBBS/BDS.
  3. Open the Round 2 Provisional Seat Allocation List PDF linked with Notice No. AMRU/(COE)-Admission-120/2026-27(MBBS/BDS)-5378.
  4. Use your Merit Number or Application Number to locate your entry in the PDF.
  5. Check the allotted institute along with your applied and allotted quota/category.
  6. Save or print a copy of the page showing your allotment for future reference.

Grievance Window: Open Until Today

AMRU has given candidates a short grievance window to flag any discrepancy in their merit position or allotment details. Objections must be emailed to counselling.amruhp@gmail.com by 5:00 PM on 12 September 2026, the same day the provisional list was expected to be finalised into the binding result. Candidates raising a grievance should clearly mention their name, application number, and merit details, and should retain proof of the email sent before the deadline.
