JAC Chandigarh Round 1 Seat Allotment Result Released Today
The Joint Admission Committee (JAC), Chandigarh, is releasing the Round 1 seat allotment result for 2026 today, July 10, after 8 PM, on the official website, jacchd.admissions.nic.in. Candidates who completed registration, document verification, and locked their choices during the Round 1 choice-filling window can now log in using their JEE Main 2026 application number and password to check their allotted institute and branch.
The allotment has been prepared based on each candidate's JEE Main 2026 rank, the choices filled and locked, seat availability, and applicable reservation and quota norms. This follows the mock allotment result released on July 7, 2026, after which candidates had a two-day correction window, between July 8 and July 9, to edit, reorder, add, or delete their choices before the final list was locked for Round 1 allotment.

What to Do After JAC Chandigarh Round 1 Allotment
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 must pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 40,000 through net banking, credit or debit card, or e-challan by July 13, 2026, to confirm their seat. Along with the fee payment, except in the spot round, candidates must also submit their willingness for upgradation in subsequent rounds. Once the fee payment and willingness submission are successfully completed, a provisional admission letter is generated online, and the candidate is considered to have reported for that round.
Candidates should note that physical reporting to the allotted institute is not required immediately after each round; however, anyone holding an allotted seat must report in person at their institute once the third round of counselling is completed. Candidates who do not pay the fee within the deadline will have their allotted seat automatically cancelled and will lose eligibility for further regular rounds, though they may still participate in the special or spot round.
Freeze vs Upgrade: Choosing Your Option
- Freeze: Candidates satisfied with their Round 1 allotment can choose not to submit a willingness for upgradation, effectively freezing their current seat for admission.
- Upgrade: Candidates who wish to be considered for a better institute or branch in later rounds must submit their willingness for upgradation after paying the seat acceptance fee.
- Withdraw: Candidates who no longer wish to continue with the allotted seat can withdraw before July 14, 2026, though the seat acceptance fee is generally non-refundable upon withdrawal.
