JoSAA 2026 Counselling Round 5 TODAY [LIVE]: Seat Allotment & Opening and Closing Ranks for IITs, NITs, IIITs & GFTIs

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is releasing the Round 5 seat allotment result for the 2026 counselling cycle today, July 16. This is the final round of JoSAA counselling for admission to IITs, IISc Bengaluru, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates can check their status by logging in at the official JoSAA portal using their JEE Main or JEE Advanced credentials. JoSAA manages centralised admission across 138 participating institutes in total — 23 IITs, IISc Bengaluru, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 56 other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). The Joint Admission Board (JAB) sets policy for IIT seat allocation, while the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) governs NIT, IIIT and GFTI allocation. Reporting Deadline & Fees

The Seat Acceptance Fee is ₹30,000 for General, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, and ₹15,000 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Category Certificate Rules for OBC-NCL and EWS Candidates

OBC-NCL and EWS category certificates must be dated on or after April 1, 2026 to be accepted during document verification. A certificate issued even one day before that cutoff will be rejected, regardless of how recently it was renewed. Candidates whose certificate predates April 1, 2026, or is close to expiring, should obtain a fresh one from the competent authority well before the reporting deadline.
