About Agra Public Institute of Technology & Computer Education, Agra
Agra Public Institute of Technology & Computer Education (APITCE), Agra, is a pharmacy-focused private institution established in 1999 as part of the Agra Public Group of Education (APGE) — one of the oldest and largest educational groups in Agra, with roots going back to 1965, when it was founded by Late Shri P.L. Sharma under the Agra Public Education Society. APGE was established under the leadership of its founding members, and subsequent development was led by Late Dr. Sadhna Sharma and Late Shri D.R. Chaturvedi. APITCE was started in 1999 on a 25-acre campus at Village Artoni on the Delhi–Agra National Highway, with an initial focus on technology and computer education. Over time, the institute evolved to focus primarily on pharmacy education, and its pharmacy wing is now known as Agra Public Pharmacy College. Currently, APITCE (Agra Public Pharmacy College) offers pharmacy programmes: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) — a 4-year UG programme (PCI approved, AKTU affiliated, 60 seats); Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) — a 2-year PG programme (PCI approved, AKTU affiliated, specialisations in Pharmaceutics/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Pharmacology, 15 seats per specialisation); and Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) — a 2-year diploma (AICTE & PCI approved, affiliated to BTE-UP, 60 seats). The total combined seat intake across all pharmacy courses is approximately 138 students. The institution is approved by PCI and offers AKTU-affiliated degree programmes, making its graduates eligible for national-level pharmaceutical licensing and career opportunities. APGI maintains a commitment to producing competent pharmaceutical professionals. The library stocks 7,500+ volumes and 115 journals, and includes multimedia educational CDs and software relevant to pharmaceutical sciences. The campus at Artoni is conveniently located on the Delhi–Agra highway with good connectivity. The institution has a pharmacy laboratory equipped with modern instruments for pharmaceutical analysis and drug formulation practicals. Admissions to B.Pharm are through CUET UG counselling. M.Pharm admissions are through GPAT score followed by AKTU/UPTAC counselling. D.Pharm is through BTE-UP counselling or direct merit.
