Alpha College of Engineering (ACE), located in Thirumazhisai, Poonamallee, Chennai, is a well-established private engineering institution run by the Alpha Educational Society — a non-profit educational body registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Founded in 2006, the college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by AICTE. Spread across 60 acres of land, ACE offers a modern campus equipped with smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, a central library, sports facilities, hostels, and a vibrant student community. The college offers undergraduate B.E./B.Tech programs across multiple engineering disciplines including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Information Technology, and Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security). At the postgraduate level, ACE offers M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering (admitted through GATE/CEETA-PG) and a 2-year MBA program (admitted through TANCET/CAT). Academic delivery at ACE is supported by well-qualified and experienced faculty members. The college features a Career Development Cell (CDC) that provides placement training from the first year, including aptitude enhancement, quantitative aptitude, soft skills, communication, and computer application skills. ACE also operates an active Research and Development Cell, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and has received project funding from ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). Admission to B.E./B.Tech programs is through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counselling conducted by Anna University, based on Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (total out of 200). The TNEA 2024 last-round closing ranks for General AI (All India) quota at ACE ranged from 136,581 (CSE) to 196,968 across all branches — making ACE accessible to a broad range of students. Management Quota seats are also available directly through the college. The central library houses over 14,751 books, 66 magazines, and 150 international journals, and is supported by digital resources. The campus has a 200-meter athletics track, football, cricket, volleyball, and basketball courts. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls, both maintained in a safe and supportive residential environment with library and internet facilities. Medical facilities and a canteen are also available within the campus. Placement at ACE is supported by the CDC which maintains relationships with companies in the IT, core engineering, and management sectors. The highest package offered in recent placements was INR 9 LPA, while the average package stands at INR 2.75 LPA. Regular recruiters include companies from IT, manufacturing, healthcare technology, and BFSI sectors.
