Maharshi Vishwamitra Autonomous State Medical College, Ghazipur (ASMC Ghazipur) is a full-fledged tertiary government medical college established in 2021 by the Autonomous Society of State Medical Colleges and Medical Education Department of Uttar Pradesh. Located at Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh – 233001, on a 21.77-acre campus, the college is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Principal is Dr. Anand Mishra. With 100 MBBS seats annually, ASMC Ghazipur is the only medical college in Ghazipur district, and is approximately 70 km from Varanasi Airport. The attached government teaching hospital with 300 beds provides clinical training across General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, OBG, Orthopaedics, and other specialties, serving rural patients from Ghazipur and neighbouring districts. The 21.77-acre campus features an academic building, administrative building, lecture halls, theatres, student dormitories, faculty residences, a 300-bed hospital block with nursing dormitory and mortuary, and a gas plant. Students describe the faculty as knowledgeable and experienced, the community as supportive, and the facilities as outstanding. During NEET 2021–2024 combined, only 3 candidates received AIQ allotments, highlighting that state quota seats are predominantly utilised.
